Marquee match-ups and prime-time slots feature prominently in Adelaide’s 2027 AFL Fixture, with Crows members and supporters to share in big occasions at Adelaide Oval.
The Club has been handed three Thursday night appearances which include hosting Geelong and Hawthorn, as well as the Gather Round opener against Brisbane.
There are also four Friday nights with the Round Eight Showdown and three interstate contests, among the AFL’s release of next year’s match times through until Round 16. The League will announce the remaining schedule details at a later stage.
As revealed earlier this week, Adelaide will begin its 2027 campaign with a Saturday afternoon home clash against GWS, while other key callouts include:
Four of first five games, including Gather Round, at Adelaide Oval;
- Play Fremantle under lights in Perth on Good Friday;
- An away Showdown in Round 8, before hosting the Power in Round 19;
- A Thursday night match-up with Hawthorn to open the King’s Birthday long weekend;
- Double up games against Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Geelong, Port Adelaide and Richmond;
- A trip to Alice Springs for the first time in nine years to play Melbourne;
- Two trips to Perth, along with visits to Sydney and Geelong;
- And five games in Melbourne, including three at the MCG.
Crows CEO Tim Silvers labelled the fixture as an opportunity to play in big games on the big stage – a scenario for which the Club has long aspired.
“There are some marquee games and prime-time slots in there, and that’s where we want to be as a footy club,” Silvers said.
“We want our players, members and supporters looking forward to those occasions and, importantly, we want to keep earning the right to feature in them.
“There’s Crows fans throughout the country and we have a nice spread of games at different venues – and to have three trips to the MCG is a particularly good result – so hopefully it gives more people a chance to see us play in-person.
“From a high-performance perspective, the run of Adelaide Oval games at the start of the season gives us a good opportunity to prepare well and build a solid foundation, and do so in front of our loud, passionate and proud members and fans.
“Like most clubs, we are always conscious of the number of five-day breaks and we’ve landed with two which would seem reasonable, and our focus now is on embracing the challenge and preparing accordingly.”
