SANFL Crows: 40 points (11 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw), 54.6 per cent

Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the SANFL finals in 2019, but with two weeks to go, one thing is for sure: the Crows will feature.

Adelaide, Glenelg and Port Adelaide are the three teams confirmed to play in September, but their final ladder positions could still change.

Glenelg is on top of the ladder with 26 points, ahead of the Crows on 23 and Port on 22.

Sturt, Norwood and South Adelaide are battling it out for the final spots in the top five.

Woodville-West Torrens, Central District, West Adelaide and North Adelaide are out of finals contention.

Best case:

If the Tigers lose their final two matches and Adelaide win both, the Crows could finish minor premiers.

Glenelg has the superior percentage with 58.21 per cent, but with Adelaide only three points behind rather than four, the percentage won’t be a factor unless the two teams play in more draws.

With Glenelg, Adelaide and Port Adelaide all going in as favourites for the final two rounds, it is most likely the top three won’t change at the end of the minor round and there will be a SANFL Showdown in the first qualifying final.

Worst case:

If Crows lose both of their games, there is a possibility Port Adelaide, Sturt or Norwood could jump into the top three and earn the crucial double chance.

Crows could fall as low as fifth if they lose and other results don’t go their way, and therefore play off in an elimination final in the first week of finals.

The run home:

Round 17 – Woodville-West Torrens (Sunday 18 August at Woodville Oval)
Round 18 – South Adelaide (Saturday 24 August at Noarlunga Oval)

The Eagles have had an up and down season, with seven wins and nine losses, and will miss SANFL finals for the first time in over a decade.

Adelaide won by 33-points the last time the two teams met in Round Three.

South Adelaide are sitting just outside the five on 16 points, with seven wins, seven losses and two draws.

The Panthers and the Crows played in one of those dramatic draws, finishing 73-all in their Round Four meeting.
