Crows forward Tom Lynch believes the Club’s mantra of ‘putting others first’ is shining brighter than ever during the coronavirus shutdown.

Players and coaches have been engaging with each other through regular Zoom meetings, Facetime calls and activities such as virtual cooking classes.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lynch said all involved at West Lakes were doing a wonderful job in keeping the group connected, which ultimately is bringing everyone closer together.

"It’s easy to be kind. I know that I’m at a footy club with a number of people who are super kind and have great hearts that think about others and put others first,” Lynch said.

I’m really enjoying being at a footy club like that and also at a time like this you can really see that shining through.

“I’m seeing so many things on social media from plenty of people thinking of others and giving up their time.

“We can learn a lot from each other in society and look after one another.”

When asked to specify which personnel were having a significant influence on the playing group, Lynch said there were many to choose from.

The 29-year-old identified a trio who have only just begun their tenures at the Club - Senior Coach Matthew Nicks, Head of Football Adam Kelly and Leadership Development Manager Dan Jackson.

“Nicksy’s obviously been amazing for the playing group,” Lynch said.

“Adam Kelly has been amazing in terms of thinking about everyone at the football club, taking a real keen interest in them and their families and making sure everyone’s okay… above and beyond.

“Dan Jackson, our newly employed leadership coach, he’s got a huge heart and is someone that we’re very lucky to have, especially during a time like this as well.”

Lynch also praised Player Development Manager Emma Bahr for the vital role she plays behind the scenes at Adelaide.

“Our head of welfare Emma Bahr has probably gone on employee of the year for the last eight years,” he said.

“She’s someone we’re obviously very close to and certainly everyone appreciates her a lot. There are a few people with some big hearts who are playing a magnificent role.”
