Adelaide would like to thank long-time servant Heath Younie for his contribution after being advised he has accepted an assistant coaching role at North Melbourne.

Younie joined the Crows’ development program in 2012 and was the inaugural SANFL Crows Coach, leading the side to two finals appearances during his four seasons in charge.

In recent years, Younie has also been Head of Development and has an outstanding record of fast-tracking the careers of many young players.

Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly said Younie’s new role is testament to the work he has put in during his time at the Club.

“Heath is a much-liked and highly respected member of our football department who has made a significant contribution over nine years,” Kelly said.

“His care for others is second to none and he deserves this opportunity as an assistant coach at AFL level, and we wish him and his family all the best both on and off the field.”

Younie said the opportunity to return to his home state of Victoria and further his coaching journey was too good to refuse.

“I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity the Crows gave me as an untried coach nearly a decade ago and since then, I have learnt and experienced so much,” Younie said.

“It’s a great club full of talented and committed people, many of whom I now consider lifelong friends.”
