Adelaide’s squad will travel to Launceston with a potential maximum of just four games experience at UTAS Stadium.

The team will not be confirmed until Saturday evening, but just five current Crows have lined up for a home and away match in Tasmania’s second largest city.

One of those, captain Rory Sloane, has already been ruled out of the clash due to injury.

The remaining four include Taylor Walker, David Mackay, Ben Keays and Billy Frampton - the latter two travelling with Brisbane and Port Adelaide respectively.

Gun midfielder Rory Laird told the media on Thursday that the statistic didn’t concern him.

“It’s not an issue,” Laird said.

“You get a feel for it on the Captain’s run, when you’re running around out there you don’t think about that at all. You’ve got a million other things to think about during the game.

“We’ve played two games against North Melbourne in Hobart... little bit different, but we’ll go scout the ground the day before the game.”

Laird copped a knock to the shoulder in the third quarter against Fremantle but returned to the game and is expected to be available for selection against Hawthorn.

“I’m sweet, a bit of carry on from me,” Laird said.

“It was just a stinger, it went dead for a few minutes and was a bit worried but saw the doc and he cleared it up.

“I took a couple of painkillers and I was back out there. No stress.”

Sloane returned to training on Thursday, albeit extremely limited, and will be back “as soon as he possibly can”.

“I feel for Sloaney, he was playing so well and leading us well,” Laird said.

“It’s an awkward injury, some of the stuff he went through with looking after… not allowed to do a lot with his eye, can’t really socialise or look at screens.

“Sloaney is like a jack in the box, wants to be doing stuff all the time. Running today would be a great circuit breaker for him.”

Adelaide’s Round Six clash with Hawthorn kicks off at 12.30pm AEST / 12pm ACST on Sunday.
