Defender Luke Brown is expected to return from an Achilles injury to take on Carlton this weekend.

Brown has missed Adelaide’s last two games against Collingwood and St Kilda due to lingering Achilles soreness but trained fully on Saturday and is set to be available to play the Blues in Melbourne.

“Following two weeks of rest we believe Luke will be available for selection this week,” Head of Football Adam Kelly said.

“Luke’s a seasoned defender and one of the first choice selected so to have him back and able to play on some of Carlton’s dangerous small forwards obviously it will be a real advantage for us this week.”

Small forward Lachlan Murphy is exceeding expectations in rehabilitation from ankle surgery and is on track to resume playing in the next 2-3 weeks.

Murphy suffered a syndesmosis injury in the Round 8 Showdown but has resumed running and will reintegrate with the main training group in the next fortnight.

“He’s progressed really well and exceeded our expectations all the way through and is probably a couple of weeks ahead of where we planned him to be,” Kelly said.

“He’s recommenced some change of direction running and we anticipate he’ll join the main group as early as next week so really pleasing signs for Lachie Murphy.”

Midfielder Matt Crouch has also resumed running after groin surgery last month and remains six weeks away from playing.

Daniel Talia (foot) TBC
Lachlan Murphy (ankle) 2-3 weeks
Tom Lynch (toe) 3-4 weeks
Matt Crouch (groin) 6 weeks
