The Adelaide Crows will spend two days on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula on February 10-11 as part of the 2014 AFL Australia Post Community Camp.

The itinerary includes visits to more than 25 schools, hospitals and aged care homes between Mt Compass and Kangaroo Island, plus coaching clinics, an official dinner, a training session and ‘game experience’ against a lucky primary school team (winners of a schools competition).

The dinner is open to the public and is a wonderful opportunity to mingle with the players. It will be held at the Hotel Victor on Monday, February 10th from 6.30pm. Tickets are available now through the hotel. The price is $50 (adults) and $25 children (under 12 years) which includes a two-course meal. All funds raised from the official dinner will go to the Great Southern Football League Junior Development Program.

Adelaide’s travelling party will be based in Victor Harbor during the trip.

This is the 11th year the AFL Community Camp concept has reached far and wide across Australia. The Crows have previously been to Murray Bridge, Port Lincoln, Barossa Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Port Augusta, Mt Gambier, Riverland and Naracoorte last year. The Club also visited the Fleurieu Peninsula in 2006.

Nationally, the AFL Community Camps have helped to raise over $580,000 for junior footy and community clubs. More than 4,000 primary and secondary schools have been visited, with in excess of 800,000 students reached during those visits. Over 70,000 kids have attended the NAB AFL Auskick super-clinics and over 29,000 patients have been visited in hospitals and aged care facilities.
