Adelaide drafted Newman in 2019 as a defender after she earned All Australian honours in the AFLW under-18 national Championships and selection in the SANFLW Team of the Year in 2018 as a rebounding half-back. She then switched to a forward in her first season at the Crows. Newman debuted in Round One, 2020, and went on to play four games. She had a break-out year in 2023 which included a career-best performance against Gold Coast, when she collected 25 disposals and nine marks. Newman was one of the Crows’ leading ball-winners in 2024, averaging 19.4 disposals, 3.1 inside 50s and 3.4 tackles and finished eighth in the Best and Fairest. In 2025, Newman featured in 14 games, and averaged 19.8 disposals, and 3.4 marks.
