The Adelaide Crows Foundation has once again partnered with Treasure Boxes to help disadvantaged children and young people around South Australia.

Launched last year, the Boots for Boxes Campaign has kicked off again, aiming  to offer children equal opportunities to participate in sport and its benefits by repurposing football and soccer boots for kids and teens without access.

Crows fans are being encouraged to get behind the cause and donate good condition footy boots to the Club’s headquarters at West Lakes or the Treasure Box warehouse in Edwardstown.

Adelaide’s men’s and women’s players are also supporting the campaign and have given away boots they no longer wear.

Crows Foundation Manager Louise McDonald said the Boots for Boxes campaign helped create equal opportunities for all SA youngsters to ensure they could participate in sport.

“Few activities have a deeper impact on young kids than sports,” McDonald said.

“Playing in a sports community improves kids’ social and physical health, increases confidence and teaches life skills.

“It also reduces stress, and provides much needed fun and enjoyment.

“The Boots for Boxes program aims to provide sports boots to disadvantaged kids, families and communities across South Australia to provide these outcomes and more.”
