Adelaide will receive future third round and fourth round draft selections from Gold Coast for midfielder Hugh Greenwood after the Crows and the Suns agreed to trade terms on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old former basketballer joined the Crows as a Category B rookie in 2015 and played 51 AFL games.

Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid thanked Greenwood for his on and off-field contribution to the Club and also paid tribute to his unique sporting ability.

“It has been a remarkable journey for Hugh, to represent Australia in basketball and then Adelaide in the AFL is a special achievement,” Reid said.

“Hamish Ogilvie (National Recruiting Manager) worked incredibly hard over the years to get Hugh to the Club and Hugh certainly showed he could make a major impact at AFL level.

“Hugh quickly became a fan favourite and was also extremely popular around the Club with players, coaches and staff.

“We wish Hugh and Kjiersten and their families all the very best for the future.”

Adelaide currently holds selections 4, 23, 28 and 49 in next month’s National Draft.
