Adelaide will take on Port Adelaide this Saturday in Showdown 47 at Adelaide Oval.

The Crows hold a slender two-win lead over the Power - 24 to 22 - after winning Showdown 46 in Round Eight this year.

Ahead of this Saturday’s match, we’ve identified five things to look out for.

1. Eddie Betts 300th Club goal

Earlier this year, Eddie Betts played his 300th game of AFL football and booted six goals - including a potential Goal of the Year winner.

Against Port Adelaide on Saturday afternoon, Betts will have the chance to kick his 300th Club goal for the Crows.

Eddie sits on 589 career goals and could reach the 600 milestone by the end of 2019.

2. The ladder

Adelaide is just one win ahead of the Power on the AFL ladder - 32 points to 28 - sitting sixth and ninth respectively.

The Crows have a slightly higher percentage, but a decent Port Adelaide victory could flip the standings for the South Australian clubs.

Adelaide has won three out of its last five games - compared to the Power who have won two.

But results pending, Port Adelaide could finish Round 16 in the top eight with the Crows forced out.

3. Selection dilemmas

Both sides face the difficult task of selection on Thursday night.

For the Power, Tom Rockliff, Justin Westhoff and Sam Powell-Pepper all had a run in the SANFL side on the weekend and recorded impressive figures.

Rockliff collected a league-record 57 disposals for the Magpies along with 12 tackles, 14 clearances and eight inside 50s.

Westhoff accrued 37 touches and three goals while Powell-Pepper grabbed 33 touches and five tackles.

At the Crows, Wayne Milera Junior, Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Tom Lynch could all come back from injury and push for a spot.

David Mackay and Chayce Jones will also be pushing for selection after strong performances for the State League side on Saturday.

4. Winning the double

Each year, Adelaide and Port Adelaide face off twice in the AFL calendar (excluding finals and pre-season).

On five occasions (each), the Crows and the Power have walked away with wins in both matches - the double.

After Adelaide’s victory in Round Eight, the Crows now have the chance to lead the double bragging rights six to five.

It would also be the third time in four years (excluding 2018) that Adelaide has won both Showdowns.

5. Captain’s influence

No one has kicked more goals in Showdowns than Taylor Walker.

In his 16 games, Walker has booted 41 goals - three ahead of second-placed Robbie Gray on 38 goals from 17 games.

And in the midfield, Rory Sloane is pulling the strings.

Over the past five matches, Sloane is averaging 27.3 touches and trails only Matt Crouch (28.8) for most possessions per game.

Add in 4.7 marks, 7.7 tackles and 1.3 goals and Sloane becomes the highest rated player (from either club) across the past five match-ups.
