Adelaide Senior Assistant Coach Scott Burns says he’s hoping his experience at Hawthorn will pay off against his former side this weekend. 

Having spent three years as an assistant coach under Alastair Clarkson, Burns said a bit of insider knowledge could help the Crows shut down key players. 

“It’s not so much about what the coaches are doing because coaches shift and change what they’re doing week to week or year to year,” he said. 

“But you know the players who, when they’ve been at their best, where the opposition has allowed them to play their best.

“And you certainly know when they’ve been restricted or been held back...  what specific players have been able to do that.”

Burns remained tight-lipped on whether the Crows would see a selection shake-up in Round 6. 

“We’re really happy with the collective seven that has been out there as forwards this season, but that doesn’t mean that’s the seven that will be there all season,”

“Whether it’s this week or in four or five weeks 

The Crows take on the Hawks in an Anzac Day clash at UTAS Stadium, with first bounce at 12.00pm ACST.
